Over a dozen players with Alabama ties drafted in NFL draft

April 27, 2025 - Fourteen players with ties to the state of Alabama were drafted in the seven rounds of the NFL draft from Thursday through Saturday. Alabama Quarterback Jalen Milroe was the fifth quarterback selected. Even more players signed contracts as undrafted free agents including Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne.

University of Alabama Guard Tyler Booker was the 12th player taken. He goes to the Dallas Cowboys in the first round as they look to replace the legendary Zack Martin on their o-line.

University of Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell was drafted by the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the first round.

University of Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was drafted in the third round by the Seattle Seahawks.

Auburn star running back Jarquez Hunter was drafted in the Fourth Round by the Los Angeles Rams.

University of Alabama safety Malachi Moore was drafted in the fourth round by the New York Jets.

University of Alabama linebacker Que Robinson was drafted in the fourth round by the Denver Broncos.

Auburn wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith went to the Los Angeles Chargers in the fifth round.

Alabama A&M offensive lineman Carson Vinson was picked in the fifth round by the Baltimore Ravens.

Alabama tight end Robbie Ouzts went to the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round.

UAB Cornerback Dacarrion "Mac" McWilliams was drafted in the fifth round by the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent last year at UCF after four seasons at UAB.

Auburn linebacker Jalen McLeod was taken in the sixth round by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Alabama Defensive Tackle Tim Smith went to the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round.

Troy wide receiver Tez Johnson was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round.

Former Alabama State University running back Jacory Merrit was picked in round seven by the Washington Commanders.

Players who were not drafted still will have the opportunity to try to make an NFL roster now that the draft is over. Teams are busy signing undrafted free agents to come to camp and compete for roster spots.
