March 28, 2025 - MONTGOMERY, AL - The Young Republican Federation of Alabama is standing in full agreement with ALGOP Chairman John Wahl in condemning the outrageous decision retired Mobile County Circuit Judge Braxton Kittrell made to dismiss the election contest in Conecuh County. We believe the court's refusal to examine all the evidence in this case is an insult to hardworking Alabamians who cast legitimate ballots and the integrity of Alabama's elections.
After credible evidence of illegal ballot harvesting and voter disenfranchisement emerged, Republican Mike Blackmon was right to challenge the results of the 2022 Conecuh County Sheriff's race. Eyewitness testimony, video evidence of fraudulent voting practices, and reports of Republican ballots being disqualified on technicalities while democrat ballots with the same issues were accepted all point to a coordinated effort to manipulate the outcome of this election. Yet, a democrat-controlled canvassing board and a democrat judge have chosen to ignore the evidence, instead of seeking the truth.
"This ruling is a disgrace to Alabama's legal system," said YRFA Chairman Stephanie Petelos Nabavian.
"The people of Conecuh County deserve fair elections, not a rigged process where fraud is overlooked, and Republican votes are thrown out. The court's refusal to conduct a thorough review of the contested ballots only fuels distrust in our election system. The Young Republicans will not stand by while our democratic process is trampled."
In response to this corrupt ruling, the YRFA is committing resources to establish a Young Republican Chapter in Conecuh County. Our organization will work to ensure there are boots on the ground to fight back against the entrenched Democrat political machine that has made a mockery of fair elections in Alabama's Black Belt for years. We will organize, mobilize, and make it our mission to make the next elections in Conecuh County too big to rig.
"The voters of Conecuh County deserve better than the farce they were given," said YRFA Vice-Chair Nate Butler. "Our election process means nothing if our votes don't count. Therefore, it's imperative the next election cycle is too big to rig, and if the Young Republican Federation of Alabama has anything to say about it, it will be. The days of the Democrat machine manipulating the outcome of elections in Black Belt counties are over in this state."
The Young Republican Federation of Alabama calls on Republicans and Republican Organizations across Alabama to join this fight. Election integrity is not optional-it is the foundation of our Republic. We will not stop until the people of Conecuh County and every county in Alabama can trust that their vote counts and their elections are fair.
The YRFA is comprised of young conservatives between the ages of 18 and 40. The YRFA's mission is to recruit, train, and elect Young Republicans. To support the YRFA and to learn more information about the YRFA, please visit: https://www.alabamayoungrepublicans.com/
