David Gornoski addresses conservatives

March 20, 2025 – MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL. – Nationally known radio host and podcaster David Gornoski addressed the Gathering at Olexa's Tearoom in Mountain Brook. Gornoski is an evangelical Christian who believes that the U.S. should seek to be more Christlike and is skeptical of many of the institutions of the federal government and the corporate culture.

"If you are waiting around for politicians to save your life you are not doing Jesus," said Gornoski. "We cannot stand here and wait around for Donald Trump or the federal government to save us."

Gornoski was optimistic with the overall direction of the country.

"Steak and Shake (a national restaurant chain) - they are getting rid of all of their seed oils and they are going to beef tallow," said Gornoski.

Gornoski believes that natural animal fats are healthier than plant derived artificial fats.

"Democracy is not what the founders wanted," said Gornoski. "They created a constitutional republic. We have destroyed our republic."

Gornoski said that in many ways we have, "A democracy out of control" that is "Fighting wicked wars spending trillions of dollars."

"Why are we expecting the government to tell us how to build our home? To tell us what energy we can use?" Gornoski continued. "We don't need a king to run your life – Second Samuel (in the Bible)."

"I like Donald Trump, I really do," Gornoski said but he is a showman rather than a Christlike leader.

Gornoski said that this culture celebrates evil and the occult.

"As Christians, historically Halloween was the day that they mocked evil."

Gornoski said that (former Congressman) Ron Paul articulated many of the ideas that have been embraced by Trump including the no tax on tips, the no tax on tips, to be skeptical of the FBI and CIA, and avoiding senseless wars. Rep. Paul was largely ignored by the masses, but they have embraced Trump.

"We prefer the showmanship," said Gornoski. "To get us to listen to the message we need a showman. The crowd want an alpha male. Hopefully he is able to avoid listening to the people around him who are whispering in his ear to start a war with Iran."

Gornoski said that the Houthis are more of a threat to China and other countries so why are we the ones are getting drawn into a war with them?

"The old Temple was destroyed by the Romans and never was rebuilt," said Gornoski. "The new Temple is Jesus's body." "The crowd that cheered his name when he entered the city. a week later they don't come to his aid."

"We have idolatrously handed over power to worldly powers," said Gornoski.

Jesus said the conservatives like to profess their love for Jesus; but don't embrace all of his teachings.

"He always pushed nonviolence. Conservatives often don't like that. Jesus said turn the other check; but I don't do that. Mess with me and I will blow you down with my guns. We want to hide behind our gun culture. The loves of guns can be idolatry."

"We want a little bit of Jesus and a little bit of Trump."

Gornoski said that he has an issue with the Pledge of Allegiance because Francis Bellany (the Pledge's author) was a socialist.

Gornoski said that the devil tries to appear Christlike to lead us astray.

"Satan has to come as Greta Thornberg," said Gornoski. "Satan is always on the run

Humans want the government to save us

"You should put all of your effort into spreading the mission of Christ," said Gornoski. "He wants healing between the genders – there are two of them. That is enough. We have been invited into the greatest story ever told by God became man who was born in a foot trough for animals."
