National WW2 Museum at New Orleans

The National WW2 Museum offers a compelling blend of sweeping narrative and poignant personal detail. Beyond the galleries, the Museum's online collections, virtual field trips, webinars, educational travel programs and renowned International Conference on World War II offer patrons new ways to connect to history and honor the generation that sacrificed so much to secure our freedom.

The Museum Exhibits and Museum Store are open daily, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. It is closed Mardi Gras Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Recently the AL WWII veteran, Sonarman Second Class Harry Ural Jackson, a WWII hero, who served in the U.S. Navy on a submarine chaser three weeks off the coast of Normandy during and after the D-Day landing was invited to visit the museum where his interview was video taped. His article was published in the November 2019 issue of the Alabama Gazette.
