March 20, 2025 - CULLMAN, AL – Cindy Myrex, a lifelong Cullman County resident, devoted wife, mother, and businesswoman, is proud to announce her intentions to run in the special election for the Alabama House of Representatives, District 12.
"A lifetime in Cullman County and on Smith Lake, I never cease to be thankful for the part of the world God allowed me to be in," said Myrex. "Living in this community, filled with generations of genuine, nurturing, and God-fearing families, I am always glad to call Cullman County, Cold Springs, and Smith Lake my home."
Raised by hardworking parents, Myrex learned early on the values of perseverance, faith, and community. She has been married for 38 years, spent 18 years as a stay-at-home wife and mother, and is now in her 19th season as a successful realtor specializing in Smith Lake and Cullman County. She and her husband, Ricky, are proud members of Temple Baptist Church.
"I have been lucky enough to have the best of both worlds," Myrex said. "To say I am blessed and thankful would be an understatement. I hope that along the way in my life, I can return the many blessings given to me."
Myrex has long been active in conservative politics, recently serving as a Trump Alternate Delegate at the 2024 Republican National Convention. She has also worked on numerous campaigns, participated in the Alabama Strike Force with 16 days of door-knocking in Georgia, and was elected to the State Executive Committee for Cullman County.
"My focus is simple-faith, family, and freedom," Myrex emphasized. "I believe in protecting the rights of hardworking Alabamians and ensuring our values are represented in Montgomery. I will advocate for policies that strengthen our communities and preserve our way of life."
Representative Cory Harbison announced earlier in the week that he would soon resign to spend more time with his young family.
