Christina Woerner McInnis Announces Campaign for Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture & Industries

March 4, 1025 - BALDWIN COUNTY, AL – Christina Woerner McInnis, a fifth-generation farmer, entrepreneur, and advocate for sustainable agriculture, has announced her candidacy for Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture & Industries. With deep roots in Alabama farming and a track record of innovation, McInnis aims to strengthen the state's agricultural industry and expand opportunities for farmers, agribusinesses, and rural communities.

"As a lifelong farmer and businesswoman, I know the challenges and opportunities facing Alabama agriculture," said McInnis. "We need leadership that understands both the traditions that built this industry and the innovations that will secure its future. I'm running to ensure our farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses have the support they need to thrive."

Raised in Baldwin County as part of the Woerner family-one of the nation's leading turf grass producers-McInnis has dedicated her career to advancing soil health and agricultural sustainability. She is the founder of AgriTech Corp and the creator of SoilKit, a revolutionary soil testing solution that helps farmers, landscapers, and homeowners optimize soil health.

In addition to her entrepreneurial success, McInnis has a history of public service, previously serving as a Commissioner for the City of Orange Beach. Her work in rural economic development was recognized in 2023 when she was awarded the Alabama Rural-Owned Small Business of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

"My goal as Commissioner is simple: protect and promote Alabama agriculture," McInnis said. "That means expanding market opportunities for our farmers, investing in agricultural technology, strengthening our ports and supply chains, and ensuring our policies support-not hinder-those who feed and fuel our state."

McInnis' campaign will focus on key priorities, including supporting family farms, advocating for sustainable farming practices, promoting agricultural exports through Alabama's ports, and cutting bureaucratic red tape that burdens small agribusinesses.

She resides in Orange Beach with her husband, Timothy, and their four children.
