February 12, 2025 - When Miss Alabama's Abbie Stockard was crowned Miss America on January 05th, 2025, it became immediately clear that with her peppy demeanor, all-American cheerleader style of look, and her bright smile, her year long tour as the new Miss America would take her to places near and far. Yet, Miss Stockard is very proud of her Southern roots. And, as such, the Miss Alabama Organization is hosting a homecoming celebration for Miss Stockard on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025. As the Miss Alabama Organization is Stockard's proud preliminary organization in her successful bid for Miss America 2025.
The fourth contestant from Alabama to be crowned Miss America, Miss America 2025 Abbie Stockard, will be featured at the Miss America Autograph Party to be held on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 at the Soiree Event Gallery in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. This event is open to everybody and begins at 10AM. Miss Stockard will be present at the autograph event, as well as Miss America's Teen 2025, Peyton Boiling. Miss Alabama's Teen 2024, Ali Mims, will also be present as the 1st Runner-Up to Miss America's Teen along with twenty other visiting state titleholders from the Miss America Class of 2025.
In what portends to be a busy day for Miss Stockard, the morning autograph session will be followed by a Miss America Celebration Dinner honoring Miss Stockard to be held at the Vestavia Hills Country Club beginning at 5:30PM. This is a ticketed event and while anybody is welcome to purchase a ticket, at this time it isn't immediately clear how one can obtain tickets to the Miss America Homecoming Celebration Dinner. But, those interested in attending can contact the Miss Alabama Organization at (205) 871-6276 to try and obtain more information.
The celebration dinner will then be followed by the Miss America Celebration Show beginning at 8PM at the Samford University's Wright Center. This event will feature performances by Miss America 2025, Abbie Stockard. As well as performances by Peyton Bolling, Miss America's Teen 2025 and Ali Mims, Miss Alabama's Teen 2024. Other former Miss Alabama titleholders will provide special entertainment, as well. With the contestants from the 2024 Miss Alabama Pageant, which Miss Stockard won, being featured in a production number for the show.
Special guests for the Miss America Celebration Show will be Dr. Deidre Downs Gunn, Miss America 2005 and Miss America 1995, Heather Whitestone McCallum. Heather Whitestone McCallum made pageant history when she was crowned Miss America 1995, as she was the first contestant with a disability to be crowned the coveted title of Miss America.
Heather Whitestone McCallum lost her hearing at the age of eighteen months when she was rushed to the hospital with a dangerously high fever which was the result of the Haemophilus influenza virus. And while standing next to Miss Virgina's Cullen Johnson in the 1995 pageant finals, Heather Whitestone McCallum could not hear the host, Regis Philbin, when he announced the first runner-up. She could read his lips, but too incredulous of what she was reading, she looked at Miss Virginia for confirmation that she had won.
Miss Abbie Stockard was honored by Governor Kay Ivey in her 2025 State of the State address as Alabama's own Miss America. With the Governor commending Miss Stockard's grace, determination, and pride for her home state of Sweet Home Alabama.
