UAH to hold the Second Annual Business of Space Conference to be held Feb. 23-25

February 11, 2025 – HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Second-annual Business of Space Conference will address opportunities and barriers in the new space economy through industry-academia collaboration.

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) College of Business will once again host the Business of Space Conference, uniting space industry professionals with academics and policy researchers from across the nation to focus on creating solutions through partnerships while addressing both opportunities and barriers in the new space economy.

The Conference is February 23-25, 2025. Registration is currently open and will close on February 17, 2025. The event will be held at the UAH Campus: Student Services Building, 1201 John Wright Dr., Huntsville, AL 35899.

The rapid advancement of new technologies has sparked unprecedented growth in the space industry, fundamentally reshaping the economic landscape. Collaboration between industry and academia is imperative because the initial players will influence the policies and standards for future generations. As space commerce evolves, it is essential that key players share knowledge and develop strategies for long-term sustainability.

The Business of Space Conference unites leading academics, business leaders, innovators and policy influencers shaping the new space economy. Over two days of curated sessions including keynote presentations and interactive discussions, attendees will explore the latest knowledge, share insights and connect with researchers and industry stakeholders. Designed to address current challenges and opportunities, the conference aims to shape future academic research and policy development in the new space economy.

Keynote speakers include Kevin Engelbert, Manager of the In Space Production Applications (InSPA) portfolio at NASA Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center; Ben Roberts, Founder and CEO of Sky Orchard Finance and Advisory Services, LLC, and Akhil Rao, Acting Agency Chief Economist at NASA.

Other speakers include Damon Feltman, Founder of OXR Consulting, LLC, Interim President of the Space Force Association (Huntsville Chapter) and Board Chair of the Association of Commercial Space Professionals; Colonel Michelle Idle, Deputy Commander of the Space Systems Command, Los Angeles Air Force Base, and David Livingston, Founder and host of "The Space Show," executive director of the One Giant Leap Foundation, Inc. (OGLF) and subject-matter expert for space-related topics.
