Alabama Gazette picks the post season

December 20, 2024 – MONTGOMERY, AL – the 2024 Southeastern Conference season is behind up and the University of Georgia Bulldogs are the conference champions!!! Most of the teams of the conference still have football to play. Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee are in the inaugural 12 team college playoff. Why we are playing playoff games 4 and 5 days before Christmas messing up our Christmas parties, baking, and shopping instead of on New Year's day weekend is another one of those decisions by the powers that be in college football that makes you think these people are imbeciles (sort of like why the transfer portal opens on December 1 rather than January 1 or why there is no salary cap on how much NIL schools can spend on stealing other team's players; but we will still be watching the games.....And the Alabama Gazette football panel will still be picking the games.

SEC Champion Georgia is in the playoffs, but they have a bye in the first round so we do not know their opponent yet. We will pick the UGA games as well as the other SEC second round games if Tennessee and Texas survive their first-round games.

The Alabama Gazette football panelists are Brandon Moseley, Luisa Reyes, Perry O. Hooper Jr., Sam Adams, Christopher Peeks, and Harry Still III.

Brandon is picking Florida to beat Tulane; Texas to take out Clemson, Ohio State to beat Tennessee, Navy to beat Oklahoma, Georgia Tech to take out Vanderbilt, Arkansas over Texas Tech, Texas A&M to beat USC, Missouri to overcome Iowa, Alabama over Michigan, South Carolina to beat Illinois, LSU to beat Baylor, and Ole Miss to best Duke.

Luisa is picking Florida, Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Missouri, Alabama, South Carolina, LSU, Ole Miss, and that "Georgia will beat whomever they play."

Sam is picking Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Missouri, Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss.

Perry is picking Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Missouri, Alabama, South Carolina, LSU, Ole Miss. "I'm picking Georgia to win it all"

Harry is picking Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Missouri, Alabama South Carolina, LSU, and Ole Miss.

Christopher is picking Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Navy Georgia Tech, Arkansas USC Iowa Michigan, South Carolina, LSU, and Ole Miss.
