The people's voice of reason
December 28, 2024- WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama) addressed concerns from Alabama reporters about the mysterious drones that were flying in numbers over New Jesey and other places. Tuberville said that "the American people deserve answers on this."
"It's kind of typical of the last four years," said Sen. Tuberville. "The animals are running the zoo. The American people deserve answers on this. Last year we had a Chinese spy balloon fly all the way across the country and we finally shot it down when it got over the Atlantic."
"We don't know who this is or who is controlling it," stated Tuberville. "As you hear President Trump, he said that in his hearing or his briefings. They know where they are coming from. They know where they are going. Tell the American people. Quit being secretive about this. You know its really is unacceptable not to warn the American people or at least give them some information about what the heck is going on. It just shows you a lack of leadership in the White House and that will all change in January 20th 2025."
Many of the mysterious drone swarms sighted over New Jesey and surrounding areas appear to be aircraft or hobbyist drones. The Biden administration has stressed that there is no present threat to any government installations or military sites from the drone activity.
The drone sightings began around late November primarily in northern New Jersey and New York City. They have since spread to several other states mostly along the East Coast.
The White House has shot down an earlier report that Iran was responsible for the unusual drone action. At a briefing Wednesday, Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh responded to the claim that the drones were operating off a drone carrier ship off the coast.
"There is not any truth to that," Singh told reporters. "There is no Iranian ship off the coast of the United States and there's no so-called mothership launching drones towards the United States."
White House national security spokesperson John Kirby has said that there's no reason to think that the drones pose a threat or have a 'foreign nexus.'
The White House says that the Homeland Security Department and the FBI are investigating the mysterious drones.
Sen. Tuberville served on the Senate Armed Services, Veterans, Agriculture, and HELP committees.
