The people's voice of reason
January 20, 2025 – WASHINGTON, D.C. – four years ago President Donald J. Trump (R) was leaving the White House. A defiant Trump left for Florida without participating in Joseph R. Biden's swearing in ceremony. Today Trump will be participating – he will be the one sworn in.
A vengeful Biden unleashed the full fury of the Justice Department against Trump. Aided by partisan district attorneys in Manhatton and Fulton County, GA, Jack Smith – the special counsel appointed by then Attorney General Merrick Garland delivered 140 combined indictments against the former President. None of them swayed the American people from voting to re-elect Trump.
Trump's swearing in ceremony is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States – he was number 45 in his last term.
U.S. Senator John Davis "J.D." Vance (R-Ohio) will be sworn in as the Vice President. The governor of Ohio will appoint a Senator to replace Vance – who was first elected to the Senate in 2022. Vance – age 40 – is a Marine Corps veteran, an attorney, author, and former venture capitalist who was born in Kentucky; but grew up in Ohio.
The Trump Vance Inaugural Committee has prepared a schedule of inaugural events to be held over a four-day celebration that started on Saturday.
Monday, January 20, 2025 will begin appropriately with a service at St. John's Church. That will be followed by tea at the White House and then the swearing-In ceremony itself at the US Capitol. The event was originally supposed to be outside; but moved indoors due to projected cold temperatures.
Following the swearing in of Trump and Vance will be the farewell to former President Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris (whom Trump defeated at the polls on November 6).
The President's Signing Room Ceremony will follow.
Trump supporters will be able to watch the festivities at Capital One Arena. Trump will join them there.
The inaugural committee then has scheduled a JCCIC Congressional Luncheon followed by the President's Review of the Troops, and then a Presidential Parade on Pennsylvania Avenue. Trump plans to get to work immediately with an Oval Office Signing Ceremony at the White House where he is expected to sign dozens of executive orders dealing with border security, immigration reform, energy policy, ending DEI at the federal level, and ordering federal workers to return to their offices – some have been "telecommuting" since March of 2020. At some point this week, President Trump is expected to reinstate the Mexico policy that bans U.S. taxpayer funds going to non-government organizations (NGOs) that provide and promote the killing of unborn babies.
On Monday night there are three official inaugural balls:
The Commander in Chief Ball primarily for members of the Armed Services and veterans.
The Liberty Inaugural Ball primarily for the President's MAGA volunteers who did all the groundwork to make Trump's return to power happen.
The Starlight Ball primarily for big money GOP donors.
On Tuesday, January 21, 2025 Trump will participate in a National Prayer Service where he will invoke divine blessing for the country and his administration.
Security at the Capitol is heightened with guard troops and numerous police departments including New York City and Philadelphia sending forces to bolster the Capitol and Metropolitan police.
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey (R) has ordered that flags be at full mast to celebrate the inauguration. On Tuesday they will be lowered again to mourn the loss of former President Jimmy Carter (D) who passed away recently.
