January 6, 2024 - WASHINGTON, D.C., - the U.S. Congress has certified the electoral college results of the 2024 presidential election. Former President Donald J. Trump (R) is now officially the winner and will be formally inaugurated back into office on January 20.
U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Alabama) released a statement after taking part in Congress' certification of the electoral votes for President Trump.
"I was proud to participate in certifying the election of our nation's 47th President, Donald J. Trump," Senator Britt said. "Hsi resounding, historic victory in November was a message from the American people that they want a president who will put them first-making America safe, strong, and prosperous again. I'm excited for the start of President Trump's second term, and I look forward to attending his and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance's inauguration two weeks from today."
U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama) commented on his X social media account.
"We have just finished certifying @RealDonaldTrump 's election and in 14 days, he will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States," said Sen. Tuberville. "Soon we will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! πΊπΈ."
Congressman Barry Moore (R-AL01) also commented on X,
"Today, I proudly joined Congress in certifying President-elect @realDonaldTrump & VP-elect @JDVance's historic win!" "With 312 Electoral Votes and a clear America First mandate, they're going to bring real leadership back to the White House. I'm ready to stand with them."
"It was my honor as the United States Representative from Alabama's 4th Congressional District to perform my role in certifying the election of Donald Trump as President and J.D. Vance as Vice President."
Congressman Robert Aderholt said, "It was my honor as the United States Representative from Alabama's 4th Congressional District to perform my role in certifying the election of Donald Trump as President and J.D. Vance as Vice President."
Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL07) said, "As elected leaders, we should always remember that our loyalty is to the Constitution, not to any one person or party. Our elections are sacred, and for our democracy to work, we must always respect the outcome, even when we disagree. It is in that spirit that today, unlike four years ago, we came together to peacefully certify the results of the 2024 presidential election and uphold the will of the American people."
Trump will be inaugurated on January 20.
