HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (DEC 18, 2024) – The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) will honor the leadership legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during a new Leadership Breakfast event that showcases community leaders who are working to improve everyone's outlook. The inaugural theme is "Leaders Shaping the Business Community of The Future."
The UAH Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Student Services Building, Room 112, on the campus of UAH, a part of The University of Alabama System.
"Alabama has always had strong leaders from within our state. Dr. King was a pivotal leader whose peaceful words and compelling actions changed our nation. This year, we wanted to take on a new approach to our annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. program and highlight business leaders in north and central Alabama who are paving the way for our state," said Kristina Hendrix, UAH vice president for strategic communications.
"The UAH Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Breakfast will be an opportunity for people in Huntsville to hear how Alabama is making a dynamic impact across our nation."
The program will feature Helena Duncan, president and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama, who will offer her perspectives on the state's business climate.
A Chamber of Commerce panel from across the state will discuss how communities in northern and central Alabama are continuing to grow and make the whole state stronger. Panelists will include Nan Baldwin, president and CEO, Hoover Chamber of Commerce; Crystal Brown, president and CEO, Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce; Chip Cherry, president and CEO, Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce, and Pammie Jimmar, president and CEO, Athens-Limestone Chamber of Commerce. Tamika Alexander, WHNT-19 anchor, will moderate the panel.
Four sponsorship levels are available for the UAH Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Breakfast, including a Presenting Sponsor level that offers a speaking opportunity during the event. All sponsorships include tickets and name recognition that varies by level. Individual tickets are $20.
