The people's voice of reason
November 29, 2024 – The SEC regular season is finally finished. All that we have left are the SEC Championship game, the playoffs, and the bowl games. Auburn will not be going bowling; while Alabama is clinging to that final spot in the college football playoffs as we head into championship game week. The Alabama Gazette panel generally had a good final week of predictions though there were some surprises – in a season full of surprises. One game that everybody on the panel missed was Kentucky versus Louisville. Everyone on the panel thought that a disappointing Kentucky team would stand up for their coach and make a final stand against their rival. The panel was wrong – Kentucky was totally noncompetitive against their in-state rival.
The SEC games of the last week were:
Texas versus Texas A&M – Texas won 17 to 7
Vanderbilt hosts Tennessee – Tenness ee won 36 to 23
Auburn at Alabama – Alabama won 28 to 14
Georgia Tech is at Georgia – Georgia won 44 to 42
Mississippi State is at Ole Miss – Ole Miss won 26 to 14
Louisville is at Kentucky – Louisville won 41 to 14
Florida State is at Florida – Florida won 31 to 11
South Carolina is at Clemson – South Carolina won 17 to 14
Missouri hosts Arkansas – Missouri won 28 to 21
Oklahoma is at LSU – LSU won 37 to 17
