"Don't Get Stuck"

One of the most forgotten sins of the Bible is looking back on your past. Did you know that it is actually a sin? Jesus says that He doesn't want you looking back anymore.

He tells us the story of Lot, his wife, and two daughter. God was about to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah and God sent two angels of the Lord to rescue them. God only gave them one instruction. Don't look back. That was the only instruction.

The life as they knew it was burning down. The Bible says that they came out but Lot’s wife looked back. And because she looked back she turned into a pillar of salt, she was calcified and got stuck in a place that she was only supposed to be passing through.

Genesis 19:26: "But Lot's wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt"

She didn’t realize that God had a hope and a future for her. God had a plan for her. God had a purpose for her. God had provisioned for her. But it was all in the future. She wanted what she was leaving more than what God had for her. She was so attached. If only she would have known that God had more for her.

My friend, we could do that…especially if we've had a broken past. Sometimes the dysfunction of our past is more comforting than the unknown freedom of the future. I want to encourage you today. Keep moving forward. Keep advancing. Know that God has a hope and a future for you!

Many Blessings!
