The U.S. has killed 165 ISIS terrorists since August 29

November 5, 2024 – WASHINGTON, D.C. – all eyes, nationally and globally, are focused on the U.S. elections today. Polls, speeches, rallies, a couple of debates, gaffes, litigation, etc. has dominated the new cycle in the U.S. While everyone has been watching the political spectacle that is the 2024 election the U.S. Armed Services, the national intelligence agencies, and our allies in the Middle East have very quietly been waging a silent war against Islamic State terrorists in war torn Syria and Iraq.

The Hill is reporting that since August 29, U.S. forces have conducted more than 95 operations against ISIS targets in the region. These efforts have "resulted in 163 terrorists killed and 33 captured, including over 30 senior and mid-level ISIS leaders," the Pentagon's Central Command said in a statement. "These successful operations resulted in the seizure of significant enemy materiel that could aid in future disruptions."

ISIS was crushed during the Trump administration.

The U.S. military working in concert with security force in Iraq and Syria have been targeting ISIS leaders and operatives to prevent the terrorist group, which once ruled a region of Syria and Iraq nearly the size of Ohio, from making a comeback.

No American service members have been killed to date, but two were wounded in an explosion during a mission in late October that operation. They are being treated for their wounds at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland.

There are reportedly 900 U.S. forces operating in Syria and an estimated 2,500 based in Iraq that are involved in the counter-ISIS mission.

Meanwhile tensions between the United States, which has defended Israel against two missile attacks by Iran, and Iran have continued to grow.

To prevent further deterioration of the system in the Middle East Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has ordered more warplanes and Navy ships to the Middle East to maintain U.S. presence in the region.

Austin has ordered more destroyers, a fighter squadron and tanker aircraft, and several Air Force B-52 bombers to the region, press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said in a statement.

"These forces will begin to arrive in coming months as the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN Carrier Strike Group prepares to depart," Ryder added.

43,000 U.S. troops are reportedly in the region. B-2 stealth bombers recently bombed targets in Yemen controlled by the outlaw Houthi rebels who are allied with Iran. The U.S. has also increased the troops deployed to Israel, including special operations and CIA forces, as well as 100 troops and a THAD missile system.

Two White House officials, Amos Hochstein and Brett McGurk, were in Israel on Thursday to speak with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

"Secretary Austin continues to make clear that should Iran, its partners, or its proxies use this moment to target American personnel or interests in the region, the United States will take every measure necessary to defend our people," Ryder said.

The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and the three Navy destroyers in its strike group are set to leave the waters of the Middle East by mid-November. The USS Harry Truman and its destroyers reportedly have orders to depart for the Mediterranean Sea.
