Alabama Gazette staff picks performed better in Week 7

October 12, 2024 - The Alabama Gazette panel bounced back in Week 7 after a really bad Week 6. Alabama's performance versus South Carolina was disappointing; but they managed to come away with the win. Auburn took the week off to try to get right for the SEC home stretch. Georgia is continuing to work on its issues, while Texas thoroughly dominated its rival. The staff finished in a 5-way tie at 6 and 1 for the week.

The SEC games in week 7 were:

Vanderbilt 20, Kentucky 18

LSU 29, Ole Miss 26

South Carolina 25, Alabama 27

Florida 17, Tennessee 23

Mississippi State 31, Georgia 41

Texas 34, Oklahoma 3

Missouri 45, Massachusetts 3

The Gazette panel is Brandon Moseley, Luisa Reyes, Sam Adams, Christopher Peeks, Perry O. Hooper Jr., and Harry Still III.

Brandon Moseley correctly picked Alabama over South Carolina, Missouri over Massachusetts, Texas over Oklahoma, Georgia over Mississippi State, Tennessee over Florida, and LSU over Ole Miss. Brandon however failed to predict Vanderbilt's win over Kentucky. Brandon was 6 and 1 for the week. Brandon is 61 and 13 on the season.

Luisa correctly predicted Alabama, Missouri, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU. Luisa wrongly picked Kentucky over Vanderbilt. Luisa was 6 and 1. Luisa improved to 60 and 14 on the season.

Sam correctly picked Alabama, Missouri, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU. Sam also underestimated Vanderbilt. Sam was 6 and 1. Sam is 41 and 12 for the season.

Christopher correctly picked Alabama Missouri, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and LSU. Christopher also missed on Vanderbilt. Christopher was 6 and 1 on the week. Christopher is 62 and 12 for the season.

Perry correctly picked Alabama, Missouri, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. He incorrectly predicted that Ole Miss would defeat LSU. Perry was 6 and 1 on the week and 56 and 18 on the season.

Harry correctly picked Alabama, Missouri, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and LSU. He missed on the Vanderbilt game. Harry was 6 and 1 on the week. He is 46 and 12 on the season.
