Alabama Gazette panel has subpar week 8 in their SEC predictions

October 25,2024 - Week 8 of the Southeastern Conference was filled with disappointments. Alabama's playoff hopes hang by a thread after the Tide collapsed down the stretch and the dumpster fire that is Hugh Freeze's Auburn team continued a Missouri. Texas did not live up to their hype in Austin against Georgia. The Alabama Gazette panel (with some notable exceptions) predicted that Auburn would lose; but were burned by the Alabama, Kentucky, and Texas losses.

The SEC games of the week were:

Auburn at Missouri - Missouri won 21 to 17.

Alabama at Tennessee - Tennessee bested the Tide 24 to 17.

South Carolina at Oklahoma - South Carolina won 38 to 0

Texas A&M at Mississippi State - Texas A&M won 34 to 24

LSU at Arkansas - LSU won 34 to 10

Ball State at Vanderbilt - Vanderbilt won 24 to 14

Georgia at Texas - Georgia won 30 to 15

Kentucky at Florida - Florida won 48 to 20

The Alabama Gazette panel includes: Brandon Moseley, Perry O. Hooper Jr, Sam Adams, Luisa Reyes, Christopher Peeks, and Harry Still III.

Brandon correctly picked Missouri to beat Auburn, South Carolina over Oklahoma, Texas A&M over Mississippi State, LSU over Arkansas, and Vanderbilt over Ball state. Brandon wrongly predicted Alabama to beat Tennessee, Texas to beat Georgia, and Kentucky over Florida. Brandon went 5 and 3 on the week. Brandon is 66 and 16 on the season.

Perry correctly picked South Carolina, Texas A&M, LSU, and Vanderbilt. Perry was wrong about Auburn, Alabama, Texas, and Kentucky. Perry went 4 and 4 on the week and 60 and 22 on the season.

Christopher was right on Tennessee beating Alabama and Georgia beating Texas. He also got South Carolina, LSU, and Vanderbilt right. He was wrong on Auburn, Arkansas, and Kentucky. Christopher was 5 and 3 on the week and 67 and 15 on the season..

Sam was right on Missouri, Texas A&M, LSU, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt. He was wrong on Kentucky, Alabama, and Oklahoma. Sam went 5 and 3 on the week. Sam is 46 and 15 on the season.

Luisa correctly picked Missouri over Auburn, LSU over Arkansas, Texas A&M over Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt over Ball State. She was wrong on the Alabama v. Tennessee, Georgia v. Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina v. Oklahoma, and Kentucky versus Florida games. Luisa was 4 and 4 on the week and 64 and 18 on the year.

Harry correctly picked Missouri, Texas A&M, Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Florida. He was wrong on Alabama, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Harry was 5 and 3 on the week and is 51 and 15 on the season.
