Alabama and Tennessee underwhelm in Week 6

The Alabama Gazette panel did a horrible job picking games in week 6. None of our panelists predicted that number one in the nation Alabama would play such epically poor defense against the Vanderbilt Commodores. That combined with other upsets contributed to the worst week of football prognosticating this year. Sadly, Auburn has played so badly in 2024 that no one on the panel had picked Auburn to beat Georgia – and they didn't.

The week six SEC games were:

Missouri at Texas A&M – Texas A&M won 41 to 10

Auburn at Georgia – Georgia won 31 to 13

Alabama at Vanderbilt – Vanderbilt won 40 to 35

Tennessee at Arkansas – Arkansas won 19 to 14

Ole Miss at South Carolina – Ole Miss won 27 to 3.

UCF at Florida – Florida won 24 to 13

The Alabama Gazette panel consists of: Brandon Moseley, Sam Adams, Luisa Reyes, Harry Still III, Christopher Peeks, and Perry O. Hooper Jr.

Brandon wrongly picked Missouri to beat Texas A&M, Tennessee over Arkansas, Alabama to beat Vanderbilt, and Central Florida over Florida. The only games Brandon picked right was Auburn being uncompetitive against Georgia and Ole Miss to beat South Carolina. Brandon was a dreadful 2 and 4 on the week. Brandon is 55 and 12 on the season.

Sam correctly picked Texas A&M, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Florida. Sam was wrong on the Alabama Vanderbilt game and the Tennessee Arkansas game. Sam was 4 and 2 on the week. Sam is 35 and 11 on the season.

Luisa said that, "Missouri is overrated" and was correct with her Texas A&M pick. Luisa was also right when she said. "It is not going to be pretty for Auburn." It wasn't and nothing has been pretty for the Tigers this season. She was also right when she picked Ole Miss and Florida to win their games.

Luisa was wrong when she predicted. "Alabama will roll right over Vanderbilt." – they didn't and now their SEC championship dreams could be slipping away. Luisa was also wrong with her, "Tennessee beats Arkansas by three touchdowns," prediction. Luisa was 4 and 2 on the week. Luisa is 54 and 13 on the season.

Harry correctly picked Texas A&M, Georgia, and Florida. He was wrong when he picked Alabama, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Harry was 3 and 3 on the week and 40 and 11 on the season.

Christopher correctly picked Georgia, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Florida. Christopher was wrong on Alabama and Missouri. Christopher was 4 and 2 on the week. Christopher is 56 and 11 on the season.

Perry correctly predicted Georgia. Perry was wrong on Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, and UCF. Pery finished 1 and 5 on the week. Perry is 50 and 17 on the season.
