The people's voice of reason
A shell of his former self, the 2024 Joe Biden and the Joe Biden of 2012 bear little resemblance. Nor is he the man of four years ago. Democratic officials, fearful of an electoral disaster losing not only the White House but both houses of Congress, took the “keys from the old man” in July due to his vast mental deterioration. Or did Biden slip as much as Democrats think?

*Biden’s Original Plan*
Joe Biden fulfilled his dream in 2020, capturing the White House after making his first attempt in 1988. He promised to be a transitional president. Judged as the only person who could defeat Donald Trump; the Democrats coalesced around him. The plan, more than likely schemed by party brass, called for Biden to serve one term before handing the keys of the kingdom over to a younger candidate.
*Choosing Kamala Harris*
Understanding that defeating an incumbent president, even with the controversies surrounding Donald Trump, is always an uphill challenge. Needing to turn out the black vote in numbers, he chose his running mate, who in any other year would not have even made the shortlist, California Senator Kamala Harris, not even two years in office.
*Hiding Biden’s Struggles*
Like most other presidents, Biden did not intend to cede Power once he got in office. Sheltered by his inner circle, they attempted, as best they could, at keeping him from the public view much like Woodrow Wilson’s wife. They did an Amazing job in this day and age, but recording devices of any type, are always present. His gaffes at public appearances were on the nightly news networks. Whisper started. In front of cameras, Biden committed one mistake after another. On several occasions, he called out the names of the deceased. No one could deny his downfall.
*The Turning Point: Debate and to Defeat*
If the Democrats were to salvage anything from the 2024 election, something had to be done. Trump received a debate, from Biden’s campaign and accepted. There were two scheduled debates, one in June and one in October. The two men met in June; what transpired altered the course of American politics and the history of the world. Biden’s performance ended his political career. Nothing could be said after that—nothing he could say or do could salvage his presidency. No chief executive could return from that abyss.
*Orchestrating Biden’s Exit*
One has to ponder if the Democrats orchestrated this debate to sabotage his bid and get a better candidate. As the polls showed, Trump stretching out more and more of a lead, the Democratic hierarchy went to Joe Biden and forced him out. Obama made the phone call. We don’t know what they discussed, but Joe Biden withdrew soon after.
*Biden’s Parting Shot*
But the “old man” did something that caught the Democratic officials off guard. And it is evident in his actions lately that maybe he does still know what he’s doing. Joe Biden is
torpedoing Kamala Harris’s election effort. He sent a loud and clear message to Obama. “Hey, you’re pushing me out as president; I can’t do the job anymore. You’re going to
bring somebody else in who can win? Hey, watch this.” He immediately endorsed Harris, clipping Pelosi, Schumer, and Obama’s wings. They had no choice but to fall in step.
*Consequences and Aftermath*
Here of late, Kamala Harris’s election team tried to distance themselves from him, having none of it; Joe Biden let America know she’s been part of every decision. Ultimately, Trump’s decision to debate Biden may become the worst strategic decision ever. Had Biden stayed on that ticket, he would spiral down in defeat and take 50 House
members and eight senators with him. Now, the Democrats have some life, but deep down, the old President does not want to see her succeed.
*Final Thoughts*
So, if you take the keys from the old man, make sure you take the car as well, or you might have a bunch of flat tires.
