How gas prices have changed in Dothan in the last week

The national cost for a gallon of gas is up slightly from last week as Floridians recovering from Hurricane Milton wade through higher regional prices for gas.

That upward pressure on prices should be fleeting, however, as teams work to restore access to roads, repair power lines, and replenish gas stations, according to AAA. The slight uptick in gas prices nationwide is more likely the result of escalating conflict in the Middle East. Still, gas prices are 40 cents lower than they were one year ago.

"The national average price of gasoline has returned to a slight climb over the last week as Iran's attack on Israel has slowly funneled to the gas pump, as expected," GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said in a statement this week.
