The people's voice of reason
October 29, 2024 - TUSCALOOSA, AL – Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl and the University of Alabama College Republicans will host "Challenge the Chairman" on the Quad of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa today (Tuesday, October 29). This interactive event is part of the Alabama GOP's ongoing effort to engage young voters and will give students a unique opportunity to ask Chairman Wahl questions about the election, the party's stance on issues, and why Republican values are best for young people in America today.
Chairman Wahl, who is the youngest Republican state party chairman in the country and also serves as RNC Vice Chairman for the Southern Region, will hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow. Following the press conference, "Challenge the Chairman" will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at a table in front of Gorgas Library on the Quad.
Chairman Wahl emphasized the significance of reaching out to younger voters and the importance of engaging them in the election process.
"The future of our nation rests in the hands of young people. It's essential they understand the impact of conservative values on securing a stronger, freer America," Wahl stated. "We're seeing policies from the current administration that are burdening our generation with excessive debt and economic challenges, and it's our responsibility to stand up for a better, more sustainable future."
Wahl highlighted the importance of connecting directly with younger voters, describing it as a key priority for the Alabama GOP.
"This event allows us to have meaningful, one-on-one conversations about the issues they care about and show them how conservative principles will lead to opportunity and prosperity for both students and Americas in general. We're proud to start this series of events right here in Tuscaloosa and hope to expand 'Challenge the Chairman' to campuses across Alabama," he said.
The Alabama Republican Party encourages all students at the University of Alabama to attend and participate in this open Q&A session to engage on the issues that will shape the future of the state and the country.
