Navy was just too physical for UAB

On Saturday, Navy defeated UAB in Birmingham 41 to 18. It was UAB's first American Athletic Conference game.

UAB's defense simply could not stop Navy on the ground or in the air as the Midshipmen ran the ball for 227 yards against the Blazers on 42 carries averaging 5.4 yards per rush. The Navy also had 225 yards through the air on just 9 receptions out of 11 attempts.

Navy had a 21 to 3 lead at halftime and never trailed in the game. UAB was its own worst enemy accumulating 11 penalties for 104 yards.

UAB Quarterback Jacob Zeno had 14 completions on 22 pass attempts for 202 yards one touchdown and two interceptions in the loss.

UAB Sophomore Running Back Lee Beebe Jr. had 82 yards rushing on 15 carries for a 4.8 yards per carry average. UAB as a team had 192 yards rushing.

UAB Senior Tight End Terrell McDonald led UAB in yards receiving with 67 yards on his one catch.

This is UAB's third loss in a row in what has been a disappointing 1 and 3 start for the 2025 college football season. This is head Coach Trent Dilfer's second season leading the Blazers.

UAB will play Tulane next in the friendly confines of Protective Life Stadium at 12:00 noon on Saturday.
