The Alabama Gazette panel had a largely successful week during week two of the college football season. The Berkley Bears coming to Auburn and stifling the Tigers offense was surprising to the panel. Only Christopher Peeks correctly predicted that one. The South Carolina would thoroughly dominate Kentucky Wildcats shocked the panel. The panel was divided on the Arkansas versus Oklahoma State game. That was proven correct by Oklahoma State narrow victory.
In the Arkansas versus Oklahoma State game Oklahoma State narrowly emerged victorious.
Texas visited Michigan and the Longhorns thoroughly dominated.
McNeese State played Texas A&M and Texas A&M was the victor
Tennessee Tech at Georgia was won by Georgia.
South Carolina opened SEC play at Kentucky and South Carolina was by far the better team.
California was at Auburn and California won shocking most of our panel.
Middle Tennessee State was at Ole Miss and Ole Miss won.
The University of South Florida is at Alabama was a whole lot more competitive than the final score showed; but Alabama pulled away in the fourth quarter.
Buffaloe was at Missouri and Missouri got the win.
Samford visited Florida and Florida got their first win of the year.
Nicholls State was at LSU and LSU won, though LSU did not play particularly well.
North Carolina State was at Tennessee. Our panel predicted that Tennessee would win; but Tennessee dominating the game like they did was shocking to many.
Alcorn State was at Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt moved to 2 and 0 on the season.
Houston was at Oklahoma. The panel correctly predicted that Oklahoma would win; but it was much closer than most of us expected.
Mississippi State was on the road at Arizona State and Arizona State chalked up the victory.
The Alabama Gazette panelists are: Brandon Moseley, Perry O. Hooper Jr., Luisa Reyes, Harry Still III, Christopher Peeks and Sam Adams.
Brandon went 13-2 missing the Auburn v. Cal game and the South Carolina crushing Kentucky game. Brandon is 27 and 4 on the season.
Perry went 11-4. He missed on the Auburn and Kentucky games. He also incorrectly picked Arkansas over Oklahoma State and Mississippi State over Arizona State. Perry is 25 and 6 on the season.
Luisa picked Arkansas, Texas, Texas A & M, Georgia, Kentucky, Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama, Missouri, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, and Mississippi State.
Luisa went 11 and 4. She missed on Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Mississippi State. She is 25 and 6 on the season.
Christopher went 12 and 3 on the week. He was the only member of the panel to correctly pick the Cal would beat Auburn. Christopher was also the only panelist to pick Alcon State over Vanderbilt. He missed on Arkansas, Kentucky, and Alcorn State. He is 26 and 5 on the season.
Harry went 13 and 2 and is the winner for the week. He missed on Auburn and Kentucky.
Sam went 7 and 3 on the week. He missed on Arkansas, Auburn and Kentucky.
