Alabama destroys Wisconsin

It was billed as Bama's toughest test yet- a SEC powerhouse program versus one of the historically top 4 or 5 Big 10 programs. What it turned out to be was another tune-up game ahead of the University of Alabama's Southeastern Conference opener. The Tide journeyed all the way to Madison Wisconsin and thoroughly throttled the outmanned Badgers 42 to 10.

It was Coach Kalen DeBoer's third win as the Tide's head coach and it was utter domination.

The Tide defense was pushed on the first drive by Wisconsin Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke; but after he went out with an injury the Badgers had to settle for a field goal. The game was never really in doubt after that point.

Jalen Milroe only attempted 12 passes but nine of them were caught for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Milroe also rushed the ball eight times for 50 yards and a touchdown. Backup quarterback Ty Simpson was able to get a lot of work in in the fourth quarter giving Milroe some early rest.

The Tide had 407 yards of total offense; but the defense so thoroughly dominated Wisconsin – holding the Badgers to just ten points that the Tide didn't need to unleash a lot of offensive firepower. The score was 21 to 3 at halftime. Wisconsin did score a touchdown in the third quarter; but the three second half TDs by the Tide iced the win.

Bama moves up in class next week when it plays the University of Georgia to open SEC play.
