NWSS 2025 National Anthem Contest Is Now Open

For all of the cowgirls and cowboys out there who can also sing, the National Western Stock Show's 2025 National Anthem contest is now open. Closing on October 20th, 2024, the National Anthem singing contest gives people the opportunity to compete for an opportunity to sing The Star Spangled Banner at a rodeo performance during the 2025 Stock Show. Singers upload an MP4 video file onto their website and the videos must all be new recordings featuring the opening script of "Hi/Hello, my name is (we/are) __________, from _________ (city, state), and I'm/we're auditioning to sing the National Anthem at the 2025 National Western Stock Show."

The top 9 videos submitted prior to the closing date will then move on to an online voting round which takes place from October 23rd, 2024 through November 06th, 2024. The winner will then be contacted on November 07th, 2024 with the announcement being aired live on the radio on 98.5 KYGO on November 08th, 2024.

The National Western Stock Show was founded in 1906 and bills itself as the nation's premier livestock, rodeo, and horse show. With the 2025 National Western Stock Show and Rodeo taking place on January 11th, 2025 through January 26th, 2025, it is considered the kick off to the PRCA rodeo season. And it takes place at the National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado. With the NWSS featuring 29 rodeos in 2025 including the Colorado v. the World Rodeo, the Mexican Rodeo Extravaganza, PBR Bull Riding, and the MLK Jr. African-American Heritage Rodeo. The sixteen days of rodeos are a Colorado tradition that celebrates the state's agricultural heritage and Colorado's Western heritage and is a major state attraction that draws thousands of visitors each year.
