The people's voice of reason
On October 9-10 a transatlantic tech conference will bring leaders in AI from Belfast, Ireland and Birmingham together. The Irish Roundtable in Birmingham will hear from experts in AI from Europe and the U.S. Participants will discuss how businesses, universities and cities can seize the opportunities offered by the 'AI Revolution'.
Among those addressing the conference will the Hon Consul General of Ireland with responsibility for Birmingham, Sarah Kavanagh, the CEO of software company Unosquare Giancarlo DiVece who has significant digital operations in Birmingham and Belfast, and Cornell Wesley, who is the Director Office of Innovation and Economic Opportunity for the City of Birmingham.
On Tuesday organizers announced that Matt McGuire, the Vice President of Data and AI at Unosquare in Portland, Oregon will be the keynote speaker for the Irish Roundtable.
McGuire will speak on AI-Powered Workforce Transformation: Upskilling and Job Creation as a Driver of Regeneration.
Matt will draw from his expertise in data and AI to explain how artificial intelligence can fuel workforce transformation through upskilling, fostering job creation, and driving economic regeneration.
There are already strong cultural ties between Birmingham and Belfast: The strong Scots-Irish population in Birmingham can be traced back to the North of Ireland while Belfast was home to a vibrant civil rights movement in the late 1960s which was directly inspired by the Black civil rights struggle.
The Irish Roundtable will open with a reception at the BCRI on 9 October before a half-day conference the following day in the Harbert Center.
