Second week of SEC games this weekend

Friday, September 9, 2024 – week two of the college football season is upon us. Most Southeastern Conference teams are still playing nonconference opponents; but some teams are going ahead and starting SEC play.

Last week the panel all made the same picks and went 14 and 2. This week the games are a little harder and there is more disagreement from the panel members.

The SEC games this week are:

Arkansas visits Oklahoma State

Texas visits Michigan

McNeese State plays Texas A&M

Tennessee Tech at Georgia

South Carolina opens SEC play at Kentucky

California is at Auburn

Middle Tennessee State is at Ole Miss

The University of South Florida is at Alabama

Buffaloe is at Missouri

Samford goes to Florida

Nicholls State is at LSU

North Carolina State is at Tennessee

Alcorn State is at Vanderbilt

Houston is at Oklahoma

Mississippi State is on the road at Arizona State

The Alabama Gazette panelists are: Brandon Moseley, Perry O. Hooper Jr., Luisa Reyes, Harry Still III, Christopher Peeks and Sam Adams.

Brandon is picking Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia, Kentucky, Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama, Missouri, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, and Arizona State.

Perry is picking Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia, Kentucky, Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama, Mississippi State, Missouri, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State

Hooper was confident in his picks except for the Oklahoma vs Arkansas and Mississippi State versus Arizona State games.

"Those are the only two that could give me trouble," Hooper said. "

Luisa picked Arkansas, Texas, Texas A & M, Georgia, Kentucky, Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama, Missouri, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, and Mississippi State.

Luisa remains bullish on her pick on Alabama winning the SEC.

"You can put me down for that the rest of the season," said Luisa.

Harry picked Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia, Kentucky, Auburn,, Ole Miss, Alabama, Missouri, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, and Arizona Stare.

Christopher is picking Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia, Kentucky, California, Ole Miss, Alabama, Missouri, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Alcorn State, Oklahoma, and Arizona State.

Sam is picking Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama, Missouri, Florida, and Arizona State,
