The people's voice of reason

Alabama dominates Western Kentucky

For those Tide fans who have expressed trepidation about Kalen DeBoer as the new head coach – they had nothing to fret about on Saturday. Bama's beat down of the Western Kentucky team was as thoroughly dominating as possible.

Alabama had 63 points and over 600 yards of offense.

Star Quarterback Jalen Milroe threw for two touchdowns and ran it in for two touchdowns on the ground. The veteran signal caller contributed over 200 yards through the air and 79 yards of rushing. Milroe was sacked just once for a loss of seven yards. He left in the third quarter as the Tide substituted a number of players to get as many playing time as possible. Bama scored 21 points in the first quarter, added 21 points in the second quarter, and another 21 points in the second half.

The defense held the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers to just 145 yards of total offense and no points. There were some notable mistackles by the Tide or this beat down could have actually been even worse.

Running back Justice Haynes rushed the ball four times for 102 yards, including an 85-yard touchdown scamper.

Freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams showed his five-star speed with 139 yards receiving on the first two catches of his collegian career.

Jam Miller had 5 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown.

Six wide receivers and two tight ends had catches on the day for the Tide.

Linebackers Deontae Lawson and Jihaad Campbell each has 9 tackles on the day to lead the Tide defense. Linebacker Que Robinson had the only sack for the Tide on the day. Safety Keon Sabb had two interceptions for the Tide.

Backup quarterback Ty Simpson came in for Hurts in the third quarter. He had five completions on nine attempts for 66 yards.

Alabama plays the University of South Florida (1 and 0) next. USF beat Bethune 48 to 3 last week. The game will be at 6:00 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday.
