The people's voice of reason

The GOP is going down a rabbit hole.

I have to wonder who the GOP strategists are. Where is Karl Rove when Republicans need him? Would the late Lee Atwater take this route? The GOP are shooting themselves in the foot right now, the news networks are abuzz with GOP leader’s claims that Vice President Harris is the DEI choice. Trump did not do them any favors today with his comments at the Black Journalist Conference. By now, everyone has either read or listened to his words, so draw your own conclusions. Why did he go on there? And why did he attempt to answer a question about what other GOP leaders meant? No matter how you want to cut it, this turned into an epic fail for Donald Trump.

DEI policies first caught my attention last winter. DEI is to prevent white males from dominating America. At least, that’s how someone explained DEI to me. Ok, why did Biden choose Kamala as his running mate in 2020?

Was she the most qualified person to be a “heartbeat away from the presidency?” Or because she fits the DEI profile? Ok, if she fits the profile, then why are people upset when GOP leaders refer to her as such? Wasn’t DEI implemented to get candidates who fit this model? If so, mission accomplished. If not, does it matter? Exercise In logic.

Which brings me to this. Why are Republicans going down this rabbit hole? Attacks like she is “the DEI candidate” are playing right into the hands of Democratic operatives. This type of rhetoric will only backfire on Republicans and turn Harris into a sympathetic figure to voters.

Are they trying to lose more female voters and send their already small black support to Kamala? Who cares if she is a female? Who cares if she has Asian heritage? Who cares if she is African-American? Democrats are the ones who make an issue out of race and gender. Sadly, now Republicans have fallen into this sinkhole.

Let the Vice Presidents record speak for itself. This is what Republicans need to keep the voters focused on. Make people aware of her domestic policy positions. Highlight where she stands on foreign affairs. She is more left of Bernie Sanders. Tie her to AOC. Point out these three share the same vision for America. Stay on message. Stay on point.
