The Desecration of Arlington's Reconciliation Monument

In the January 2023 edition of Alabama Gazette, in “Robert E. Lee, Arlington, and the Ministry of Truth” (https://www.alabamagazette.com/story/2023/01/01/opinion/robert-e-lee-arlington-and-the-ministry-of-truth/2480.html), I covered the history and subsequent theft of Arlington House by the Federal Government. Spearheaded by the dastardly Montgomery Meigs, the plan was to seize the Lee/Custis property and turn it into a cemetery. This would serve as retribution against Lee and his family since they sided with Virginia and fought for Southern Independence. In 1882, Custis Lee legally regained the rights to the property but opted for financial compensation instead of going through the arduous process of reinterring those buried at Arlington. If Lee could have seen the future, perhaps he would have had the bodies moved?

Fast forwarding to the present, a new crop of radicals has continued to demonize the Southern people who dared to follow in the footsteps of their Revolutionary ancestors. The so-called “Naming Commission” – something akin to Stalinist Russia, set about to rename virtually anything connected to the Southern Independence movement. This band of “merry men and women” include the following: Adm. Michelle Howard, U.S. Navy, Retired, Chair; Brig. Gen. Ty Seidule, U.S. Army, Retired, Vice-Chair; Lt. Gen. Thomas Bostick, U.S. Army, Retired; Jerry Buchanan; Gen. Robert Neller, U.S. Marine Corps, Retired; Lawrence Romo; Dr. Kori Schake; and U.S. Rep. Austin Scott (Georgia). It is doubtful anyone with any integrity would be involved in such a nefarious project, thus, this is what you get.

This Orwellian agenda echoes the observations of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, who lived through similar circumstances and faced similar foes: “A nation that forgets its past can function no better than an individual with amnesia.” Even more poignantly, Scottish Patriot William Wallace said, “Any society which suppresses the heritage of its conquered minorities, prevents their history or denies them their symbols, has sown the seeds of their own destruction.” Other examples of authoritarianism include the Puritan leader Oliver Cromwell and the Jacobins of the French Revolution, who sought to reinvent history, and, as Abbeville Institute’s Brion McClanahan has noted, helped to pave the way for the diabolical, anti-human Marxist theory that lead to the evils of socialism and communism.

In 2023, I met and spoke with John Hill, the closest living collateral descendant of Confederate General A.P. Hill. He described the exhumation of the General’s remains in Richmond, Virginia, in 2022 as well as being a pallbearer for the reinternment in Culpepper in 2023. The entire event should embarrass anyone with any dignity but obviously dignity has flown the coop in the once great city of Richmond. Hill described the rude, vulgar, and seemingly illiterate individuals who dug up his ancestor’s grave, making several snide remarks in the process. All the while a shady looking “fed” lurked in the background, observing the event.

A similar fate played out at Arlington Cemetery. In violation of the law concerning tampering with cemeteries the feds removed the Reconciliation Monument at Arlington. The creator, Jewish Confederate Moses Ezekiel, is buried at the monument’s base. Yet, you have “Regime Historians” and “Righteous Cause” mythologists such as James McPherson, Connor Williams, and others who apparently think it is OK to dig up bodies and desecrate graves. Perhaps they are just following in the footsteps of their Union ancestors? You also have Mark “Woke is Wonderful” Milley and Lloyd “Raytheon” Austin. How far has this country sunk to have individuals of such poor character in positions of power? Even Alabama Congressman Mike Rogers failed to fight this agenda, allegedly “working” with Elizabeth “pseudo Pocahontas” Warren.

The destruction of history is a nasty agenda. It is understandable that some feds hate the traditional Christian South. After all, the South believed the Union is voluntary and each State is sovereign and could decide its own fate. Nationalists and globalists hate this. The war against the South has been going on since the 1800s. Now, it appears you can include Jewish Confederates in the long list of individuals to demonize. What kind of person would even risk damaging a grave? Is the plan to create hatred and treat Southerners as something less than human?

Americans deserve better than to have such disreputable people in the government, military, etc. Why would a Southerner want to join the modern military when so many in key positions of power already despise you? What happened to reconciliation? Why did so many actual Union soldiers respect their Confederate foes? Why did Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, both Roosevelts, etc., have such respect for Robert E. Lee? How far has this country sunk just in the last generation when there is such open hatred for the South, her people, and her history? There are patriots trying to correct the Arlington injustice.
