Tuberville warns that current federal spending is unsustainable

On Tuesday, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama) warned that current levels of federal spending are "NOT SUSTAINABLE."

Sen. Tuberville made his comments after the release of data showing that the federal government added $245 billion to the debt in the month of July alone.

"In July, the federal government took in $330 billion in revenue but spent $575 billion," Sen. Tuberville wrote on the social media platform X. "Anyone who has operated on a budget knows this IS NOT SUSTAINABLE. We must rein in spending."

The Biden – Harris administration has hiked spending to levels never before seen in our nation's history – even though the nation is not at war and we are at full employment. The unprecedented feast of federal dollars has been spent on water projects, expanding broadband, settling over ten million immigrants around the country, Obamacare subsidies, green energy initiatives, grants to state and local governments, supporting Ukraine's war against Russia, tax credits, and more.

Republicans warn that Bidenomics has caused inflation at leaves not experienced in this country since 1982. This they claim has cost families, even those with jobs, as the cost of living has grown faster than wages.

"Under the Biden-Harris administration, families are spending THOUSANDS more every month for basic needs compared to President Trump's administration," Sen. Tuberville said on X. "Americans have headaches over finances BECAUSE of @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris' policies."

This post on X was in response to the below post by Vice President Kamala D. Harris.

"Since our first day in office, President Biden and I have been working to lower costs and create economic opportunity," Vice President Harris wrote. "Today, we are taking new actions to help Americans avoid unfair business practices and take back their time and money."

"Americans have seen @KamalaHarris' policies on full display over the past 3.5 years," Tuberville wrote. "She is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for higher prices, the open border, and out-of-control crime."

Tuberville shared a Republican Post on the inflation report.

"Today's report shows that real average weekly earnings were down in July, and are down 3.9% since Kamala took office," the Republican Party said on X."

"Under @KamalaHarris and @JoeBiden, people are paying more and more to get less and less," Tuberville responded on X.

Sen. Tuberville was an early endorsee of former President Donald J. Trump – the Republican nominee for President of the United States.

The U.S. national debt is $35,162 billion.

Harris has promised to let the 2018 Trump tax cuts expire if she is elected meaning most taxpayers would pay significantly more taxes under President Harris. Republicans fear that higher taxes combined with the already high inflation rate will trigger another recession – only exacerbating the fiscal crisis that the government is dealing with.

The Presidential election is scheduled to take place on November 5.
