Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Suspends Campaign, Throws Support To Trump

August 23, 2024) Robert F. Kennedy Jr. formally suspended his Presidential campaign and encouraged his supporters in "about 10" swing states to support President Donald J. Trump.

Kennedy said that his name would remain on the ballot in most states, but would be removed in critical swing states where he would be a "spoiler" in the election.

Prior to Friday's announcement, his name had already been removed from the ballot in Arizona and Pennsylvania.

Recent polling has shown that a three-way race between Harris, Trump and Kennedy would result in a 2% advantage for Harris, 46%-44%-9%. A two-way Harris-Trump race results in a similar 2% advantage for Trump, 51%-49%.

Kennedy acknowledged that he had been in discussions with President Trump since two days after the Butler, PA assassination attempt on Trump to "explore avenues of cooperation" about "existential issues" on which they could find common ground. Trump and RFK. Jr. have had multiple phone and face to face discussions since then about "censorship, war and chronic diseases." Kennedy pointed out that he and Trump disagree on some issues, but he evoked Lincoln's "cabinet of rivals" as a model for how he and Trump could work together on those issues where they share similar views.

He stated that he had attempted to have similar discussions with Vice President Harris, but she declined to speak or meet with him.

Kennedy thanked his supporters for helping him climb the "glass mountain of impossible" to collect the one million signatures needed to put his name on the ballot nationwide. He also decried the "relentless, systematic" efforts by the DNC and mainstream media to block and censor his campaign and message.

Kennedy lamented that today's Democratic Party has "become the party of war, censorship, corruption, Big Pharma, Big Tech, and Big Money." He also pointed out the DNC's decision to "abandon democracy by canceling the primaries to conceal the cognitive decline of the sitting President," as a further reason he could not support Kamala Harris.

Kennedy spoke at length about his concerns about government censorship, the Ukraine war and the rise of chronic diseases in America, especially in children.

Kennedy closed his remarks with a plea to come together as a nation, saying that a "unifying theme for all Americans is that we all love our children. If we all unite we can finally give them the protection, health and the future that they deserve."
