The people's voice of reason

The Summer Of Our Discontent

Now is the summer of our discontent

Made peaceful protest by the SCOTUS rule

And all the clouds that lour’d upon the DNC

In the deep bosom of The Narrative buried.

Now are our brows bound with declining polls;

Our clenched fists thrust up ‘gainst monuments;

Our stern tweets charged with merry threats,

Our dreadful marches to delightful looting.

Apologies, Willie. In my defense, Richard III would feel right at home in Washington these days, and this long, hot summer is just beginning.

From the debacle of Thursday night’s debate, followed by the SCOTUS decisions on the J6 not-an-insurrection and Presidential immunity, The Narrative(™) foisted on us by the Deep State and their Uniparty flunkies has been dealt one body blow after another. The whole rotten edifice is teetering on the brink of collapse like a house of cards in a hurricane.

As you’d expect, the screeching has increased in direct proportion to the wounds struck on the official lies.

President Biden is fine. He’s as sharp as he ever was. All those wandering moments are just fake videos. J6 was an insurrection, and Trump challenging the 2020 election then and now is a Threat to our Democracy(™).

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong, wrong and wrong.

Old Joe is manifestly NOT fine, and hasn’t been for months. Even the White House now admits he’s only functional between 10 AM and 4 PM. That immediately begs the question: just who, exactly, is minding the store the rest of the time? Dr. Jill? Chief of Staff Ron Klain? Blinken? Mayorkas? Bootyjuice? Kamaladingdong? At least Kamala can claim to have been elected to her office, but the rest? Not at all. Doesn’t that negate the entire concept of democracy right there?

The ongoing fallout from the debate continues to cast a pall over everything in Washington. As expected, the usual suspects came out in droves immediately after the debate in support of Biden, with the usual mocking of their feeble attempts following on. Seriously, Nancy? The best you can do is insist that Trump has dementia on CNN—then immediately have your own senior moment?

Alcohol-related dementia is a thing, Nancy. Just saying.

Over the weekend, down-ballot Dems started distancing themselves from Biden. Megadonors started making fall-back plans. Potential replacements, smelling blood in the water, began circling, toothy grins in place and fins popping out of the water all over the media. Clan Biden gathered at Camp David over the weekend to plot, plan, throw the campaign staff under the bus, shoot a Vogue cover, do a major interview and resolve to move forward. Dr. Jill’s new job posting for a social media platforms manager isn’t something you’d see if she was going to let Joe bow out next week.

SCOTUS gave not one but two whacks to The Narrative(™), one last Friday and then again on Monday. Friday, the Court overturned how the DoJ has been using 18 USC 1512(c)(2) to prosecute roughly 350 J6 cases. The Court nixed the “obstruction of an official proceeding” excuse, pointed out that there is a separate insurrection statute (which has seldom been used on J6ers), and opened the doors to have most of these cases dismissed.

The case, Fischer v United States, also put a shiv in Jack Smith’s lawfare against President Trump—as if that odiferous accumulation of fecal material needed it.

On Monday, SCOTUS said Biden could send Seal Team Six to assassinate President Trump with total immunity—according to the screams from the Left. What the Court really said is that Presidents have unconditional immunity for all official acts, but no immunity for non-official acts. There’s also the presumption of immunity for “gray area” things, until proved otherwise in a court of law.

Here’s a point the Lefties seem to have missed: impeachment used to be the ultimate limit on Executive power—until Chuckie Schumer and the Senate Dems nixed it just a few months ago. Pity, that. That it also protects Joe (and Barry, and Bill, and George, under the Bragg precedent that statutes of limitations really don’t matter) also seems to have escaped them.

Reading the cases, responses and analysis of these two SCOTUS decisions confirmed a suspicion I’ve had for a long time. Whenever the Left worries about “the rule of law” they’re really worried about “our ability to ignore the law, or twist the law like a pretzel to fit our agenda.” When they use the phrase “Threat to (or Attack on) our Democracy(™)” they really mean it’s a “Threat to our Mobocracy, the corrupt racket we’re running on the country.”

Mentally substituting those phrases makes the tweets and inane statements on their shows actually make sense. It also explains their sheer terror as they realize they might have to face justice for their crimes under Trump 47–and they’ll fight like cornered rats to avoid such a fate!

And that brings us back to Joe and his campaign-ending performance last Thursday night. Monday morning, Tucker Carlson tweeted out this:

“From an unusually good source: Obama’s tweet supporting Joe Biden was disingenuous. In private, Obama is telling people Biden can’t win, and he is therefore in favor of an open convention. Obama will not say whom he supports, nor as of yesterday afternoon had he met personally with Biden to deliver the message...”

Can the Dems replace Biden at this late date? Yes, but not easily. They’ve painted themselves into a corner and there’s no good way out—only “bad” and “worse” choices lie before them. Naturally, they’ll need plenty of distractions from the back room deals, shady arrangements, backstabbing, “accidents” and assorted shenanigans they’ll be pulling to give themselves a viable candidate come November.

As I said, Richard III would feel right at home in Washington these days, and we can look forward to a long, hot summer of discontent.
