Tuberville casts Alabama's votes for Donald Trump

On Tuesday, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama) cast Alabama's fifty votes for former President Donald J. Trump (R) at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

"Madam chair, I'm Coach Senator Tommy Tuberville," said Sen. Tuberville. "I'm proud to represent the great state of Alabama--one of the most pro-military and pro-veteran states in the country. Huntsville, Alabama has sent somebody to the moon from the United States in the past, and we will do it again in the very near future. We stand for the flag and kneel for God. Madam chair, we proudly cast our 50 delegates for the next President of the United States, Donald J. Trump."

Tuberville was selected by his fellow delegates as their leader – thus it was his honor to announce that the Alabama delegates were all voting for Trump. Trump won the Alabama Presidential Primary in a landslide in March. The Trump delegates to the GOP Convention were elected by a special meeting of the 450 member Alabama Republican Executive Committee.

Tuberville also enthusiastically endorsed President Trump's selection of fellow Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate.

"Congratulations to my friend J.D. Vance," Tuberville said on social media. "In the last year and a half, J.D. and I have been in the trenches together fighting for the citizens of this country. He will work very well with President Trump."

Tommy Tuberville was born and raised in Arkansas. He spent five decades as a teacher, coach, and sports broadcaster – including tenures as the head football Coach at Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas Tech, and Cincinnati. Tuberville started a second career in 2019 when he challenging incumbent Sen. Doug Jones (D-Alabama). Tuberville won in a landslide. Today he serves in the Senate and is one of the most popular elected leaders in the state of Alabama.
