Tennessee, Mississippi State, Kentucky, and South Carolina play in SEC tournament baseball games today

The Southeastern Conference baseball tournament continues today in Hoover. Kentucky plays South Carolina late Friday afternoon, while Tennessee plays Mississippi State in the primetime game.

The action begins at 4:00 p.m. at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium with the Kentucky versus South Carolina game.

At 7:30 p.m. the University of Tennessee will play Mississippi State.

This is a double elimination tournament after the Tuesday play in games which were single elimination.

The winners on Friday will advance to play LSU and Vanderbilt on Saturday.

The SEC championship game will be played on Sunday.

On Thursday LSU defeated South Carolina 11 to 10 in a come from behind win in the ninth inning. Vanderbilt defeated Mississippi State 4 to 3, Tennessee defeated Texas A&M 13 to 4, and Kentucky defeated Arkansas 9 to 6.

From top to bottom the SEC plays the highest-level of college baseball in the country. Many former SEC players have distinquished themselves later in pro baseball.

The University of Alabama was eliminated on Tuesday and Auburn University did not even qualify for the SEC tournament this year.

The NCAA baseball playoffs begin next week.
