Southern Miss to play Georgia Southern in Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship

Southern Mississippi and Georgia Southern both advanced to the championship final at the 2024 Guardian Credit Union Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship in Montgomery.

Southern Miss defeated App State 7 to 5 on Saturday. The game was marked by two weather delays that totaled nearly eight hours.

When that game was finished, Georgia Southern played James Madison on Saturday night. Georgia Southern prevailed 7 to 1.

The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles are 40 and 18; while the Georgia Southern Eagles are 33 and 25, The two meet on Sunday for the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament trophy title and the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA baseball playoffs.

The game will be at 1:00 p.m. CDT at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery.
