Zeus and Hera need a home with a good fence

Zeus and Hera are the pets of the week for the Elmore County Humane Society. Zeus is a 1 1/2-year-old male Husky. He weighs about 70 lbs. He was surrendered to the Humane Scoeity because he is an escape artist. He likes to be outside; but he needs to have a 6' fence, because he gets loose and has a history of chasing livestock. He loves to go for rides, is good with children and FEMALE dogs but he is NOT good with cats, chickens or livestock.

Zeus likes to instigate trouble so you will need to be able to stay 'ahead' of his antics and other dogs will have to be of a temperament to tolerate him. His ideal partner is Hera. Hera is a two-year old female Husky. She is smaller at 42 lbs. She is SUPER sweet and loving, but be she is LOUD and likes to hear herself bark! Her preference is to be outside as well-meaning she also needs a well-fenced yard.

The ideal family for Zeus and Hera would be to find a responsible family who could take them both so they can stay together. They did not come in together but have become like a long-married couple & get along wonderfully. When Zeus just keeps up his antics, Hera talks back to him (the proverbial 'enough already' and quite funny) but they actually get along famously, so wouldn't it be fantastic to get them a home together!

The standard adoption fees are $100 for dogs (they will do a special adoption fee for Zeus & Hera to go to the right home together). $50 is standard for cats under one-year-old. Cats over one-year-old can be adopted by approved adopters for a fee of their choosing. This adoption fee completely covers the mandatory spay or neuter, basic immunizations, de-worming, microchip, heartworm check for dogs, rabies vaccination if old enough, free health exam with your participating veterinarian.

If you are interested in meeting Zeus & Hera, or any of the fine pets at the Elmore Humane Society, the first step is to fill out an Adoption Application: https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html

Once approved, they will coordinate with you to set up an appointment to meet & adopt.
