Steve Marshall to be the keynote Speaker at St. Clair Republican banquet event

The St. Clair County Republican Party announced recently that Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall (R) will be the keynote speaker at the party's annual Reagan/Adkins banquet dinner to honor the military and first responders at the Moody Civic Center.

Freddie Turrentine is the Chairman of the St. Clair County Republican Party.

"This Raffle and Dinner supports the St. Clair County Scholarship Fund," explained Chairman Freddie Turrentine. "With all the hard at last year's event we were able to award $15,000.00 in scholarships."

Steve Marshall is the 48th Attorney General of Alabama. He has served in that role since being appointed by then Governor Robert Bentley (R) on February 10, 2017. Marshall was elected AG in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. He is term limited from seeking a third consecutive term as AG. Marshall has been mentioned as a possible 2026 candidate for the GOP nomination for Governor or Lieutenant Governor.

Prior to his appointment as AG, Marshall served 16 years as the district attorney in Marshall County. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law.

"The St. Clair County Cattlemen's Association will be on the grill cooking our steaks to perfection," Turrentine added. "B & B Bartending will be there for spirits and Complete Catering Company / Bowling BBQ will be serving their delicious sides and other supportive vendors." "This is a group effort with the St. Clair County Republican Party, The St. Clair County Young Republicans and the Republican Women of St. Clair County."

Emory Cox and Senator Lance Bell (R-Pell City) are platinum sponsors, while County Commissioner Ricky Parker is a bronze sponsor. There are still sponsorship opportunities available. Tickets for this event are also still available.

High school seniors in St. Clair County should talk to their guidance counselors on how to pursue one of the scholarship opportunities provided by the St. Clair Republican Party and their community partners.
