Auburn Equestrian team wins SEC championship for the sixth time in a row

On Saturday the Auburn equestrian team went to College Station to go head-to-head with Texas A&M in Texas. The ladies of Auburn are returning to the Plains with yet another championship trophy.

Auburn defeated the #1 seeded Aggies 13 to 6. This is the sixth SEC Championship in a row for the horse-riding ladies, but the first for new head coach Jessica Braswell.

"This is amazing and I'm so, so proud of this team," Coach Braswell said. "Getting to do this for coach Greg Williams in his first year as head coach emeritus was so special."

This is Auburn's seventh Southeastern Conference Championship since the SEC has had an equestrian championship.

"Sophomores Alexia Tordoff and Caroline Fredenburg were awarded the Most Outstanding Performers in Reining and Horsemanship. Junior Mary-Grace Segars was honored for her win in Flat.

The Tigers now seek to win the National Collegiate Equestrian Championship. This three-day event will be April 18-20 at the World Equestrian Center.
