The Auburn equestrian team defeated Georgia 12 to 7 in the Southeastern Conference Championship semifinals on Friday. The ladies will face Texas A&M for the conference championship on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in College Station, Texas.
Auburn is the defending SEC champion.
The Aggies defeated South Carolina to advance to the championship.
Jessica Braswell is the head coach of the Tigers.
"We knew it would be a close meet and that we really needed to be on top of our game against Georgia," said Coach Braswell. "And now we get to compete for a championship tomorrow."
Auburn excelled in Western as Horsemanship and Reining.
Senior Isabella Tesmer was the Outstanding Performer in reining). Ava Stearns in Flat), Sophee Steckbeck in Fences) and Alexia Tordoff in Horsemanship also won the Outstanding Performer recognition.
