Alabama women advance, play Texas next

The University of Alabama women's Basketball team will play Texas on Sunday in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The game will be on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the Moody Center in Austin, TX,

Alabama is the number 8 seed in the bracket while Texas is the number 1 seed.

The Tider is 24 and 9; while Texas is 31 and 4.

Alabama defeated Florida State 82 to 74 on Friday. Essence Cody had the best game of her career with 20 points with 14 rebounds.

"My team motivated me," said Cody. "My team was fired up and I was fired up too."

The Tide head Coach is Kristy Curry.

"We just had so many of our players step up today," said Curry. "Florida State is a really great team and they had a great season."
