ALGOP Selects Judge Pinkston as 19th Judicial Circuit, Place 1 Nominee

The Alabama Republican Party Candidate Committee has selected Elmore County District Judge Patrick Pinkston to be its nominee for the 19th Judicial Circuit, Place 1. The position became open following Governor Ivey's appointment of Judge Bill Lewis to the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals. Pursuant to state law, the Party is tasked with choosing a nominee to replace him on the General Election ballot. Judge Pinkston is unopposed in the general election, and stands ready to take office for the full six year term that starts after the November 8th election.

"Judge Pinkston will bring a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the legal system to his new role on the circuit court. Throughout his distinguished career, Judge Pinkston has consistently demonstrated a steadfast dedication to upholding the values of the Republican Party and the principles enshrined in our Constitution. We are confident of his unwavering commitment to justice, integrity, and the rule of law. He will ensure that all individuals receive fair and impartial treatment in circuit court," said Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl.

"Judge Pinkston has embodied the core values that define our party – including respect for individual rights, adherence to conservative principles, and a strong belief in the importance of judicial independence. We look forward to watching him take on this new role as he serves the people of Alabama with distinction," he continued.

Judge Pinkston's legal career spans more than 28 years, including an over 10-year tenure as a District Judge, Special Circuit Judge, and Presiding Juvenile Judge. A graduate of the Jones School of Law (J.D.) and the University of Missouri School of Law (LL.M.), he is a recipient of a host of legal accolades and has served in a wide variety of leadership positions within the judicial community. Judge Pinkston has maintained a pre-eminent rating with Martindale-Hubbard throughout his time on the bench.

He is married to the former Georgia Brown Enslen, an 8th generation Elmore County Resident. The couple has four grown children and one granddaughter.

"I sincerely thank Chairman John Wahl and the rest of our dedicated Alabama GOP Candidate Committee for their professionalism and commitment to fundamental fairness which was on display throughout the selection process. Having the support of so many who wrote letters and otherwise assisted me is very humbling. It has been a pleasure to serve alongside my dedicated juvenile probation staff over the last decade. Helping the children and families of Elmore County as presiding juvenile judge has been both a privilege and an honor. I look forward to working with the existing circuit judges in Alabama's 19th Judicial Circuit and to serving the citizens of Elmore, Autauga, and Chilton Counties in this judicial capacity. I have tremendous respect for Judge Baxley, Judge Booth and Judge-elect Calhoon. I believe we will make a fine team," said Judge Pinkston
