Next week, April 1-7, Montgomery will host the Capitol's first Navy Week. The celebration will emphasize the importance of the U.S. Navy to Montgomery, the state of Alabama, and the nation.
The Archives is hosting two Navy Week events, detailed below:
Tuesday, April 2, 9:00-11:00am CT
The Navy Band Southeast Woodwind Quintet will perform and talk with guests in the Main Lobby of the Archives.
Thursday, April 4, 8:30am-12:00pm CT
Archives Front Terrace and Lobbies
Opportunities to visit with crew members of the U.S.S. Constitution, U.S.S. Montgomery (LCS 8), and U.S.S. Alabama (SSBN731).
Special presentations by the Navy Drill Team
Navy Week will conclude Saturday and Sunday with the Beyond the Horizon Air and Space Show at Maxwell Air Force Base, where the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will perform.
