What: Auburn University students will have the opportunity to be an IRS Criminal Investigation (CI) special agent for a day as they conduct a criminal investigation simulation. The event is a simulation of a day in the life of an IRS Special Agent and is called the Citizen Academy. The Citizen Academy will be hosted by Auburn University and have the students participating in a mock investigation to learn the skills it takes to investigate financial crimes. The event starts with swearing in the students and providing some background on IRS-CI. The students will be fully immersed in the pursuit of a financial investigation, that involves investigative and law enforcement techniques with the assistance from a cadre of CI Special Agents.
Who: There are 24 students signed up to participate.
When: March 22, 2024, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. CT
Where: Harbert College of Business, 2057 Horton-Hardgrave Hall, 425 W. Magnolia Ave., Auburn, AL.
