TECH SERGEANT KENNETH ALLEN JACKSON

Tech Sergeant (TSgt) Kenneth Allen Jackson served four years on active duty with the United States Air Force and 20 years in the Alabama Air Force National Guard. His Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) was Administrative Specialist. He received the following medals, decorations and awards: Air Force Good Conduct Award, Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Award and Small Arms Expert Marksman Medal.

TSgt Jackson was born December 23, 1944 to his parents, James C. and Inez Jackson, at Muscadine, AL, was reared there and graduated from Cleburne County High School in 1963. After working at various jobs, he voluntarily joined the U.S. Air Force and began his active duty service September 26, 1965 and was sent to Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) at San Antonio, TX, for six weeks of Basic Training. His military service involved clerical duties.

He was sent to Luke AFB, AZ, for his entire time of active duty and was discharged January 31, 1969. Using the G.I. Bill, TSgt Jackson received at B.S. Degree in Business and Economics from Jacksonville State University in 1972. He then worked in the AL Industrial Relations Department 1973-2009 as a statistician, workman’s compensation employee, as an examiner and as an ombudsman. He reenlisted for military service in the AL Air National Guard and deployed to Turkey and Korea.

TSgt Jackson and his wife, Betty T. Jackson, have been married 44 years, and they have two children. They are members of Frazer Free Methodist Church at Montgomery, AL. They have enjoyed traveling in England, Italy, Germany, Greece, Canada, Switzerland and the United States.

TSgt Jackson’ s conclusions about his active and reserve military service are: “I enjoyed it. It was because of my love of country and my patriotic duty. I would like people to remember me as a Christian, patriotic and family person.”
