The people's voice of reason

"A Cord of Three Strands is Not Quickly Broken"

As humans, we like to plan. Whether they are big or small, we plan what we are going to eat for dinner and we plan what we want to do as a career or where we want to move after college. We plan for both the little things and big things. But sometimes life doesn’t quite go as planned. God has a different plan and throws us curve balls sometimes.

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” – Ephesians 4:2

The only thing we can do to make sure we have a great future and a good life, is to trust God. Trust in His plan for you. Say yes to what He gives you and situations that He puts you in. If he wants to push you out of your comfort zone, then do it. He knows what is best for you, so let go of your own plan and trust Him.

This month my husband, Brian, and I will celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. My, oh my! How time flies! Historically, ivory was the traditional symbol for the 14th anniversary; however this has now become an issue because of poaching and animal rights issues. Instead, the elephant is often taken as the 14th anniversary theme … reflecting the stability, patience, and dignity inherent in a long marriage.

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken” – Ecclesiastes 4:12)

In our 14 years of being married, we have certainly been thrown some curve balls. However, we can see how being stronger together … most importantly, being bound together with God…has turned the extremely difficult into extraordinary victory.

How wonderful it is to know that God’s plans are better than our own. He is a good, good Father!

Many Blessings!

P.S. Happy 14th Wedding Anniversary to my husband, Brian! I love you!! “I have found the one whom my soul loves” Song of Solomon 3:4
