The Autauga County Sheriff’s Office and the Prattville Police Department teamed up and participated in a Dunking Booth to help raise funds for the Central Alabama CrimeStoppers. Complaints regarding telephone scams and identity theft have risen exponentially over the past few years. The Sheriff’s Office receives calls from citizens three to four times a week regarding these offenses. The most common complaint the Sheriff’s Office receives is in reference to telephone scams also known as “phishing”. On April 8, 2016, Sheriff Sedinger participated in a Baby Shower of a different type to promote donations to the River Region Pregnancy Center. The Autauga County Sheriff’s Office received a grant from the National Rifle Association (NRA) for an Eddie Eagle mascot costume. Eddie Eagle is the mascot of the NRA that teaches children about gun safety. Eddie says if your child sees a gun to “STOP, DON’T TOUCH, LEAVE THE ROOM, TELL AN ADULT”.
