The people's voice of reason

Judicial Watch files FCC complaint against NBC for airing obscene content in Olympics opening ceremony.

The legal watchdog Judicial Watch announced that it has filed a complaint Monday with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) against NBC for airing obscene and indecent content from the Olympics Opening Ceremony.

The Judicial Watch FCC complaint was filed by Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

"NBC and its various stations/outlets on TV, cable and Internet carried (and continues to make available) the Olympics Opening Ceremony on July 26, which included an adult male purposefully exposing (himself) in the presence of a child/children," the complaint reads in part. "This content is both obscene and indecent and, to make matters worse, was aired during viewing hours when it was likely seen by millions of children and minors."

The obscene/indecent content occurred during a portion of the ceremonies where a group of transvestites mocked Jesus Christ and Apostles at the Last Supper.

The Olympics was forced to issue an apology over the immoral and intolerant content.

Federal law prohibits obscene, indecent and profane content from being broadcast on the radio or TV.

"Obscene content does not have protection by the First Amendment," the FCC has written. "For content to be ruled obscene, it must meet a three-pronged test established by the Supreme Court: It must appeal to an average person's prurient interest; depict or describe sexual conduct in a "patently offensive" way; and, taken as a whole, lack serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value. Indecent content portrays sexual or excretory organs or activities in a way that is patently offensive but does not meet the three-prong test for obscenity. Profane content includes "grossly offensive" language that is considered a public nuisance."

Airing obscene or indecent content is a federal crime:

"The blasphemous Olympics' Opening Ceremony which included, among other obscene and indecent acts, a man partially exposing himself around children, is patently offensive for any sensible American and requires immediate FCC action against NBC" said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "The Justice Department should also launch an investigation, especially given the use of children in this obscene and indecent NBC broadcast."

Former State Representative and noted political columnist Perry O. Hooper Jr (R-Montgomery) similarly denounced the blasphemous performance in France.

"Paris decided to kick off this global event by transforming the grand stage of the opening ceremonies of the Olympics into a runway for drag queens," wrote Hooper. "Ther final act positioning them in a manner eerily similar to Leonardo da Vinci's depiction of Jesus and his Twelve Apostles in "The Last Supper." This tasteless stunt was not only an eyesore but a blatant act of disrespect to millions of Christians around the world."

"In an era where we are constantly lectured about tolerance and respect, the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics chose to ignore the core values of millions," Hooper continued. "Instead of honoring the athletes who have trained their entire lives for this moment, the organizers decided to showcase a group of drag queens in an attempt to make a "fashion statement." What message does this send to our athletes? To our children watching at home? That mocking religious symbols and sidelining true achievement in favor of political correctness is acceptable?"

The skit included a man exposing himself during the ceremony watched by millions, including children.

The French Catholic Church hit the opening ceremonies because they "included scenes of derision and mockery of Christianity."

"On July 26, 2016, 85-year-old Father Jacques Hamel was celebrating morning Mass in Normandy, France, when two young jihadists from ISIS killed him, slitting his throat," wrote Father Raymond J. de Souza in the Irondale based National Catholic Register. "In his last moments, Father Hamel recognized exactly who was coming for him, addressing his murderers: "Be gone, Satan!""

"Exactly eight years later, on July 26, 2024, Satan came back to France," Fr. de Souza wrote. "His instruments this time were not bloodthirsty jihadists, but the artistic directors of the opening ceremonies, who conceived of the sacrilegious drag-queen parody of the Last Supper. Just as God has his willing instruments, so too does Satan."

"The deep significance of the sacrilege is that Satan knows what the Last Supper accomplished. There, Jesus instituted the means by which he would remain in the world. Knowing that, Satan rebels. He rebels by killing Father Hamel at the altar; he rebels with mockery before a global audience."
